Reverse Emporium Furniture at Qld Museum Bespoke Designer Space
Bespoke is a new designer space located inside the refurbished Collectors Café at the Queensland Museum & Sciencentre, South Bank. Every month, bespoke will showcase unique locally designed furniture crafted from sustainable or reclaimed materials and August/September features 60s inspired Reverse Emporium furniture by Reverse Garbage.
Reverse Emporium furniture is all about style and functionality mixed with discarded timbers and unwanted scraps and offcuts. This furniture collection has been handmade using material that we have salvaged from Brisbane's waste stream.
Every material used in this furniture collection has a story. From old industrial cable spools transformed into stylish ottomans along with their timber legs salvaged from a suburban shed clean out, to 100 year old fencing timber stripped back to its former glory and given a new life as a stylish bar top.
Visitors to the Bespoke space are encouraged to use the Reverse Emporium furniture and be inspired by the possibilities of reusing materials that might otherwise be discarded. All items will also be for sale!
The Bespoke space will transform into a 60s haven featuring the Reverse Emporium furniture, salvaged signs, projections, DJs and vintage fashion models at the bespoke launch on Friday 24 August from 5:30pm – 8.30pm
