Tailored Workshops

School Workshops

Reverse Garbage specialises in eco-art workshops. Our skilled workshop facilitators design sessions that are not only directly linked to curriculum outcomes, but provide students with an insight into issues of sustainability through a range of creative activities.

Our primary school program includes themes such as musical instruments, masks, puppets, wearable art, stationary holders, jewellery, animals, insects and fantasy creatures, pirates, cars, junk robots, toys and mobiles.

In our secondary school program, we work with students on creative projects such as kinetic art, sculpture, wearable art, assemblage, installations, paper works (including books, cards and collage), mosaic with alternative materials, jewellery-making, collaborative works and junk-IT.

Professional Development Workshops

We run interactive workshops in schools for teachers or students on sustainability issues such as consumption, waste, consensus decision-making and co-operatives.  We design these to fit with your SOSE or other curriculum.

Festivals & Community Group Workshops

We design workshop programs for festivals and community groups. Please contact us to discuss your ideas!

Excursions to the Reverse Garbage Warehouse

A visit to the Reverse Garbage warehouse is like an archaeological exploration into our consumer society. The warehouse hosts an inspiring collection of low-cost, interesting materials.

For a small fee a Reverse Garbage staff member will take you on a tour of the warehouse and run a short educational talk about waste, the problems with landfill and what we do. We can tailor the talk for your group or project.

Cost, Information & Bookings

The warehouse is open freely to the public and to groups who just wish to come in to browse and shop. If you are bringing a large group we would appreciate prior notice.

Tailored talks and tours by Reverse Garbage staff are cost $1 per person, with a maximum group size of 50 (divided into two groups of 25 for presentation). Excursions to the Reverse Garbage warehouse must be booked in advance and are available between 9:30am and 4:00pm, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays and 1:00pm and 4:00pm on Wednesdays.
